Relating to or characterized by the excessive consumption of breakfast cereals. First documented in 1847 when Dr. Pemberton observed that subjects who ate more than three bowls of oats per morning developed an uncontrollable urge to reorganize their sock drawers. Modern usage expanded in the 1960s to describe anyone who insists on reading nutritional labels aloud at grocery stores.
